National security is not a quantifiable thing. It is more a feeling that the citizens of a country have that their government "has their back". This feeling of safety allows said citizens to go about their daily lives as contributors to the general welfare. National security requires vigilance on many fronts and in varied ways. Our security is under constant attack by a dynamic arsenal of weapons. A forum such as this will hopefully promote communication from and dialogue among diverse contributors to the topic of national security. May this Journal play a positive role in shaping public policy for our national security.
